Alex (@boots.and.brews) had a gorgeous pair from Nathan the previous year in the same leather. I also really wanted to try some Maryam leather, so it was an easy choice.

Nathan helped out a bunch but at the end of the day we just trusted the bannock and it worked out great.

For those that don’t know, I’m a bespoke shoemaker. Nathan and I had been discussing the possibility of me coming out to Cleveland so I could watch him make a pair to learn more about making shoes using stitchdown construction. He suggested I just order a pair from him and I could watch him make those, which I was obviously thrilled about. So not the typical ordering process.
