Birkenstock

US Men's Brannock: 11.5E
Munson Last: 45WIDE
Properly sized it should cup the foot with a little wiggle room, and toe space. The real import part is the foot bed… it feels glorious, it’s designed for arch support and to mold to the foot.

I was looking a closed-toe house-shoe. I wanted a different upper material but it wasn’t available.
I used a Brannock to check my size. I also have another pair of Birks in a different style so I am aware of fit.
I ordered them on the Birkenstock website.
I wore them to work, to go pick up the mail, grocery shopping. I wore them when I need a quick on quick off shoe. Also great for travel: easy on, easy off when going through the kabuki pagebtry that is TSA.
There is nothing special about the leather. It broke in quite easily. It’s easy to clean and condition. It has held up quite nicely to the wear and tear.
The sizing is pretty true to Brannock. If possible it’s best to be able to try them on, erring on the smaller side is something I’d recommend. They walk better when there is less wiggle room at the heel.
It’s a mass produced clog. It’s not fancy, or or made to an exacting standard. It’s also not just slapped together. It’s a basic assemble. Upper, footbed, sole. All glued to one another, no stitching.
I have noticed wear on the soles. There has been compression and fnthe entire sold as well as a noticeable wear down in certain parts.
I’m far from a crunchy hippie. There is a great deal of arch support and comfort. It’s functional, well suited to travel. Easy to resolve. But also inexpensive to not lament wearing the shit out of them and then replacing them.
