These boots lived their life in Iowa fall through winter, cold, snow, wet. They never once let my feet down.
The leather break in was not bad by any means, it only took about a month to really shape these to my feet. The leather took about 3 months of regular 12-14 hour days to get some change started. The leather is shifting from black to a beautiful warm coppery brown in all common contact points. The straps have darkened and where the buckle rests they have built a beautiful dark sheen.
This last has been comfortable and hugs my foot well, I don’t fell that there were any missed opportunities in the fit.
I love the hybrid design of these boots. The laces keep the boots nice and tight, but the strap adds a little extra retention and support. The boots were made incredibly well and able to take my day to day abuse. I don’t see any failure points in the actual boot itself.
The sole is harder but comfortable. It is clean in appearance and makes the boot look more refined overall. The soles have great traction in most scenarios, but slushy snow these were surprisingly slick.
The boots were absolutely amazing. They surprised me in the best way and to be honest the design near perfect. I am excited to see what happens to these boots in another 1, 5, and maybe even 10 years.
