I’ve worn these boots to the office and on the trails around my work. I have also worn them for most outings during the dome period.
The shrunken bison leather has held up well to daily wear, scrapes, scuffs, and splashes. The two cuts have developed their own creasing. They both feel broken in but show the character indifferent ways, rolls vs creases. I conditioned them once early on and have only brushed them since.
This last is in a D width only, currently. It is a bit dressier than other Chelsea’s I have had (redback, blundstone) and there can be pinching on my pinky toe after prolonged wear. The boots fit me snuggly in the heel and through the midfoot. I do with there was slightly more toe room. I have been running them with an arch support insole but may switch back to the one that they came with to see if that will aid in the toe room. Sizing I would order at least a half size up from brannock even though they say to order true to size.
Everything other than the heel stack has held up well. I did need to send them in to be reglued but they had good service taking care of the issue. I think it is a good looking boot that blends work and dress. I appreciate that they are whole cut.
Loving this sole! I think it looks good and provides a good amount of traction. It is holding up well to wear so far.
The leather heel stack did begin to delaminate but Drew’s did fix the issue.
I think this boot is a really good value, offering a good build for the price. If I were to buy them again I would opt for a cow leather. I do wish that they had a slightly more roomy/anatomical toe box. If you’re looking for a versatile and well built Chelsea that is reasolable, this is a great option.
