Rain, snow, mud, hiking, you name it, these probably saw it. They held up great.
I was really expecting to see some of the red core come out, but not really. This leather is tough and maybe another year of wearing these might bring it out, but 6 months definitely didn't, at least for me. The bison leather is really nice overall though. Supple and basically no break in. I did appreciate the smooth side being exposed in the quarters, because I'm not a fan of the pebbled look, especially through the vamp. The rough out looks way better to me.
I really like the look of this last, but I think I probably ordered one width too wide. 11.5D on the Brannock, and these are a 10.5E. Also, the right boot caused a huge callus on the bottom of my foot and became very painful to walk around in.
Overall the build quality was very good, but this is clearly a work boot. Build like a tank. The arch support thing on the side I think is probably a gimmick, or maybe because mine were a bit too wide that I didn't feel it.
The V100 is as tough as they come. Not the best for walking around on pavement, but once off road, these things just grip and grip.
I had high hopes for these, and while they're tough and build very well, I probably wouldn't buy them again. If I was working outside every day, then probably, but I don't and these are overkill for me. Also the leather while a cool idea really is a gimmick, and I feel for it. It would take a long time for the red undertones to show up, and in my case, 6 months wasn't long enough.
