I wanted a pair of smooth out bison boots to do-it-all, and the OT checked the boxes. Worn these on hundreds of miles of hikes across the country, in knee deep snow to 100° desert hikes, and everything in between. The leather looks brand new and they've broken in so nicely
Used JKs sizing guide and bumped the width up to a 3E as I like my toes to have a lot of room
Ordered online and received in a little under 6 months
Hiked hundreds of miles in all types of terrain, from rocky mountain hikes in Wyoming, to blistering 100° weather in New Mexico. They take all the abuse and look better after every hike. These are on my feet almost every day, and I couldn't ask for a better boot
The leather is so supple and soft right out of the box, and they've only gotten more so. The ankle rolls look incredible, and the toes are breaking in perfectly. The leather is so soft its crazy! The footbed took a few months to really form to my feet but they fit like a dream now 18 months into wearing them almost daily. I clean them with water and some mild soap when they get really dirty, but other than that they get brushed pretty regularly, and oiled/conditioned every few months or if they got really muddy and needed a deep clean. Obenaufs.
Haven't tried too many other PNW lasts, but I have wide forefoot and a narrow heel, so custom is usually the way I have to go with shoes if I want comfort. These are perfect for me! I went a step up on width because I like room for my toes to splay. The 10.5 is the perfect length as determined by JKs sizing, theres just enough room in the toes where on steep downhills my toes are juuuuuust brushing the end of the boot, perfect IMO
Construction is top notch IMO, I've put them through a lot in the past year and a half and theres not a stitch out of place. My only complaint would be the leather laces were kind of thin
Super comfortable to walk on, but it does wear down easy. Im 18 months in and will likely need a re sole pretty soon. But that is not a surprise with the Honey sole
These boots have been an absolute pleasure to wear every day. They're light, but can handle whatever I'm throwing at them without a second thought. I bought another pair of JKs to be my beater yard work, car work, ect boots so I dont completely wreck these, and they're just as well constructed
