These have been my dedicated workboots for the past six months. They've seen 90 plus degree weather, and even a sleet storm for a couple of days. They've seen outside work in mud and dirt. They've remodeled an entire house. Been on my feet for every single workday since October.
This leather has been great! It's held up to everything I've thrown at it. The patina is amazing! Good amount of nap coming through. Some of which has already burnished down. Plus the Indigo transfer onto the nap that got exposed on the shaft is freaking cool! There rolls along the shaft are very dramatic. They came in pretty quick and developed further along the journey. They're incredibly comfortable! Career routine is very basic. Nothing but brushing and the occasional damp wipe down from time to time. Simple stuff.
The 55 had me worried when I ordered it. But I had no issues what so ever. They felt very comfortable from day one. No problems adjusting to the higher arch and heel at all. The support of the high arch was very nice. I feel like the instep strap is very good for dialing in the fit. Very little heel slip in the beginning, and pretty much zero now.
Everything about this boot was perfect! The leather, the stitching, the edges, the heel, and the sole. Whole boot, top to bottom was dialed in. They've been rugged and tough and can handle anything.
My first Dr Sole! It was great! Great grip, and incredible durability. They've held up very well. I spend most of my time on concrete. With textured or smooth, and they've preformed good. The sole stitching held up very, longer than my experience with the VBar and mini lug. I don't know how they make them so tough, yet still sister snags quieter than other soles. Whatever magic they used is phenomenal.
Heel cap has held up very well. Some mild wear on the edge. But that's pretty normal for the amount of concrete wear they get.
If you're at all interested in an engineer, this is your boot! Incredibly comfortable. Very durable. The 55 is great if you need arch support. I can't recommend them highly enough.
