These have primarily been my work boots, working commercial construction as a plumber and pipe fitter. I’m in trenches digging. I’m in raw sewage doing live tie-ins, and everything you can else you can imagine when it comes to construction.
This type of leather has really blown my mind. I was not expecting this durability that I was receiving with what I was throwing at them. I thought that the nap was gonna come through real fast and be extreme, but this leather has just taken a beating and kept taking a beating without showing any extreme wear. As I said, I’m completely blown away with this leather.
The fit is pretty spot on. At first I thought I might’ve got him too wide, but as they broke in, I was thinking they were at the limit with my thick socks that I wear with work. One complaint I have is the HNW last doesn’t have the arch support that I need so I had to add some inserts to accommodate that.
The construction is above my expectation. I wanted an extreme work boot since I used to wear thorogoods and have burned through work boots from 6 to 8 months of wear. I’m at six months with these boots and I feel like they’re just starting to break in.
The sole has blown me away. I thought I knew the durability of them, but I’ve never had actual Vibram 100s. They’ve always been some knock off. They are barely showing any wear.
This sole is very rugged and takes a beating. I think in the future, I would prefer a softer, honey Vibram sole since I work on hard surfaces a lot lately.
Definitely blown away by these boots. They have exceeded my expectations and are just starting the journey by barely breaking in. Can’t say enough good things about them. I just wish I could’ve kept them looking nice longer, but they have served me very well.
