Use & wear

Cold Temperatures
Wet Conditions
Snow

I mostly wore these when walking the dog, working outside, and for casual trips out of the house. They do dress up quite well, however. I didn't beat on these as much as last year's submission but I think these took a decent licking all the same. They saw plenty of water, both wet and frozen and the Parkhurst lug soles did great on snow and ice this winter.

Leather

Tempesti Cognac Veg Tan

The Tempesti leather started out super shiny and faded into a subtle satiny sheen with use. I'll be curious to see if I can bring back their original luster with a good conditioning. This leather was pretty soft right out of the box but has gotten almost sock-like with wear. The color hasn't changed significantly but the creased areas darkened slightly. It also picked up some peaky water/salt stains.

Fit

Added Insoles
Ball Feels Right
Satisfied with the Fit
Toes Too Roomy
Too Much Volume

These were a little too roomy when I first got them. Even with thicker socks, my feet slid around and they gave me some gnarly blisters on my heels. I tried some things veg tanned insoles to take up some of the extra volume but that didn't help much with heel comfort. After a few months though, the foot beds molded to my feet and I find them plenty comfortable.

Craftsmanship

Parkhurst The Allen

Considering I bought these as samples from Parkhurst, the construction is spot on. I have zero complaints about how these were built. Although I wish they were still made in America, the quality hasn't suffered and I know these would cost significantly more if they were made here.

Sole & heel

I thought the lug soles on these boots were pretty decent. They offered solid traction even in slippery conditions and don't seem to wear out too quickly.

Final thoughts

Overall, I'm really happy with these boots! I'd probably order a 9D instead of a 9.5D next time but other than that, I have no complaints!
