I choose the Stow boots again and again. They are a vibe. Their reputation is well earned and I go back to Tricker’s again and again for different leathers, colors, and configurations. Depending on leather and color-way, I can take these on a business trip and wear with a suit, and then out for cross country hikes the same evening. The Stow is durable, comfortable, and versatile.
I wear an 8.5E US on the brannock device. I size up to a UK 8 which is a US 9 in the standard width. I stay away from wide sizes in UK footwear because the heel becomes too roomy and unstable. Therefore I size up a half to US 9 and the extra length in the ball fits me perfectly while maintaining a nice secure heel fit.
I order all my Tricker’s online from their website. Immediately you get a confirmation email and within hours a tracking and shipping code. I always get my Trickers delivery’s in exactly three days by DHL. No tariffs included and absolutely dynamite lightning fast shipping.
I wear these boots for hard use, yard work, shooting competitions, and weekend hikes. The waxy leather is incredibly water resistant and the gusseted tongue is perfect. I ear this year round in mostly hot temperature. I wear wool boot socks and even in 100 degree temps I’m comfortable; but I’m a bit of a fanatic. These are truly my “go to” boots for any outdoor activity.
The Olivvia waxy leather is brilliant. Fantastic pull up, but shows very little wear. I brush vigorously after every use and rub in a few drops of Venetian Shoe crème every couple of months just because I feel like I should. The color has evolved from green to olive, and is taking on some brown-ish tones now that I really enjoy. Sine they’re waxed they don’t breath very well. I always wear wool boot socks though and that helps to reduce issues associated with sweating.
The 4497S last feels like is was tailor made for my foot. I have a slightly wide ball and medium to narrow heel. The UK 8 is a match for a US 9. I have roughly a thumb width from the tip of my big toe to the end of the toe box. A perfect fit. The boot accommodates a slightly higher volume foot and average ankles. I always wear wool military boot socks and the cushion soles fit just fine in the Stow boots.
The timeless design of the Stow boots is a must have for all boot lovers. A true gentleman’s boot. The Tricker’s cobblers are Masters at selecting, clicking, and stitching. The stitching is uniform on the upper and sole. The eyelets are brass and have a vintage feel. Solid as a rock and finely finished on the back so as to not mar the leather on the tongue. The boots are fully lined with supple leather that feels soft but wears hard. Excellence in craftsmanship across the board.
Dainite studded sole is my favorite all rounder sole for both shoes and boots. These soles have near perfect traction in all conditions and the comfort is unbeatable. I wouldn’t complain with a commando sole on this particular waxy leather boot but Dainite studded is always a winner.
The perfect match for the Dainite studded sole. Top marks for traction, comfort and durability. My favorite heel pattern , bar none.
Best all around boot in terms of cost to comfort and wearability. My top recommendation for a hard use boot. It’s obvious why Tricker’s has royal warrants from his Majesty the King.
