I like the fit of the 2045 almost as much as the 2040, and this Natural Cypress leather looks very interesting. I also like that the 2045s like this one often have a commando sole.
I first followed the online guidance to go a full size down from Brannock for the 2045. I had to exchange for a 1/2 size down from Brannock because the full size down was definitely too small for me. Perhaps because I am an E width.
The Viberg website is easy to use, and it was straightforward enough to exchange sizes because the first pair was too small.
I wanted to wear these boots as often as possible, and wore them in many snowy winter conditions. I can confirm that they are not winter boots.
The leather transformed into a rich, beautiful honey hue. I am really pleased with how the boots held up through winter conditions and the color is fantastic. I sanded and waxed the edges and used Bick 4 twice. Cypress developed lines as soon as I started walking around (even before when I was putting in the laces), but the rich color transformation took time.
I prefer the look of the 2045, but the 2040 fits my feet better. I wear 1/2 down from Brannock, and found the 2045 very comfortable. I would definitely look to buy more boots in this Last.
Classic design, durable construction, excellent finishing. I found these Vibergs to be worth the price tag. My only complaint is that I really wish there were speed hooks. No matter how much I loosened the laces to remove them, it was never enough to get my foot in the next time.
