I wore these Bounty Hunters almost daily for the duration of the Dome. They've been in the field for work, in the office, and on the dock. At home the boots spent a lot of time in my furniture shop and casually, just about everywhere.
The rough out leather is hard wearing. It didn't show much movement in the first two months, but started shine up a bit in spots from there. The tongue leather was shit, on this particular pair of boots. Grainy, super scratchy, and unrefined. I expect better for a boot in this price range. Break-in was as expected for this type of boot. I swap between full lace and half lace throughout the day for the first two weeks. As far as care, I just kept them clean and mud free. I oiled them with neatsfoot oil about halfway through the contest, they were getting a bit dry. After the oil dried/absorbed I brushed the shit out of them. And that was the only real maintenance needed.
White's run about a half size big and I found that to be true. I love that 55 last for my feet. Enough arch support, but not so much that it feels weird. I found that when I put on some of my hardcore work boots, I couldn't wait to get these back on.
I generally like these boots, the look, the details, and silhouette. The heel on one boot is separating a bit and that's aggravating, especially for only six months of wear. Also, the tongue leather on both boots was garbage. For $700+, I expect better.
The heel on one boot is separating a bit and that's aggravating, especially for only six months of wear. The sole, generally, is fine and hard wearing.
Despite some issues, I'd recommend these boots.
