White's Boots
Farmer/Rancher
hillside footgear
Cost: 708 GBP
i wanted a real cowboy looking boot. couldn’t get drifters and these suit my needs more. i only do occasional yard work and 1-2 days a week on site doing manual labour, so these fit the in between
i went by online forums. the difference between the 4811 and the 55 isn’t too impactful in sizing
i bought through a white’s stockist who had them ready to ship. super easy and will go back to them
this boot has been what’s kept me going. 6 countries travelled, hikes, parties, adventures down paths unbeaten, this boot has not failed me once (apart from taking on and off for traditional japanese houses 7 times a day). i did light garden work in these, gone to the office, worn to many date nights with the missus and they got more comfortable as each day passed i never expected myself to fall more in love with a boot than i did here.
now, obviously from the photos, you can see this boot has gone through a hell of a lot. a lot of these scuffs have come from my home towns cobbled streets, but most importantly a very hazardously crumbling step at my front door. the break in was minimal, the 4811 suits my medium to high arch feet, and that wider toe box i know is just perfect for me. care wise, i oiled once in my time, but that was after a horrendously muddy walk around the surrey hills. and i was very light with the conditioning, as i still wanted the scars to show through.
this fit and support is perfect for me. even after wearing for a full days outing of walks around cities, light tree work or wooded trails, i’d keep them on well into the evening, most times right before bed.
this dome really gave me the definitive answer, White’s is my favourite bookmaker so far. I literally don’t have a single bad thing to say about them.
this dome has just made me more excited to wear this boot daily. i’ll be due a resole any day now, which i’m a bit nervous about being based in the UK. But nonetheless, this boot has now become a part of me and who i am. friends and family now say the rare times i don’t wear my ranchers seems weird.
