I have taken this pair just about everywhere over the past 6 months. I work part time retail and as an academic advisor (nothing super strenuous lol). I wore these on my mile long trek across campus in mornings and on the sales floor in the afternoons. Outside of work, I hike and walk my dogs a good bit, these came along for the ride many of times. I took these up to Minnesota and knew York and wore them in snow during the major snow storm in NC. Given the wet conditions these were oiled atleast every 2 months.
This leather is beefy and rigid. I’d say this year I will opt for a more comfortable leather for the 6 months in the dome. They gave in around the 1 month period with constant wear. My for does it role though! Over the past 6 months it has turned into a somewhat antiqued finish to them. The leather is moderately durable, it has definitely picked up a few gashes. In the future with horse butt I would probably opt for a slightly wider last.
Clicking is great in my opinion, I don’t get too picky about it. That being said the midsole did have an ugly crack in it when I received them, did not affect performance though! The only problem I ran into was that I feel the insole was too thin, and ended up breaking in too heavily when wearing them constantly to the point where I felt the shank. I needed up putting in half sock liners which made them comfy again. Overall an awesome boot I am happy to have in my collection, had a great time with the competition!
