Legacy X

The Legacy X is constructed on Sagara's Morgan Last using an unstructured toe design that allows the boot to naturally conform to the wearer's foot shape over time. The boot features a plain toe design with 270º Norwegian Storm Welt construction and #1091 Cork Full Soles. Standard pricing for the Legacy X starts at Rp 5,400,000 IDR (approximately $350 USD), with premium shell cordovan variants available for $545.

The unstructured toe box is specifically designed to collapse and develop character through wear, creating a personalized fit as the shoe gradually molds to the individual wearer's foot. This design approach aligns with traditional bootmaking philosophy.

The Legacy X employs Sagara's traditional handwelted Goodyear construction methods, representing what the company describes as the "Heritage of traditional shoemaking." Each boot is hand lasted and hand welted using traditional techniques, with production taking almost a month per boot. Sagara's five-person staff can produce only 10 to 15 boots per week due to the intensive handcraft process.

During construction, Sagara avoids using heaters or ovens during the hand lasting process, instead allowing the leather to cure naturally. Boots remain on the last for nearly three weeks to achieve proper molding. This approach preserves traditional Indonesian bootmaking techniques that originated during Dutch colonial influence in the early 1900s.

Standard Legacy X boots feature Cloe Horserump - Superlux leather, described as a "quite firm leather" that develops character through wear. Premium variants utilize shell cordovan, including a grey charcoal shell cordovan option that takes advantage of this leather's anti-creasing properties and distinctive patina development characteristics.

Sagara sources premium leathers from international suppliers, including Italian Shell Cordovan and Japanese Horse Hide, combining these materials with traditional Indonesian craftsmanship. The company uses natural vegetable-tanned leather typically ranging from 4 to 5 millimeters thick, compared to standard American work boot leather of approximately 2 millimeters thickness.
