The leather got soft fast, did almost noticed any break-in. The colour have deepened with some darker areas where they have seen more wear and lighter areas with fresh wear.
I usually have brushed them a couple times a week. Conditioned almost once a month after periods with heavy rain or snow...."Read the full review

It has gained some luster through conditioning, and darkened with wear in some spots, but it was not drastic. The leather uppers broke in quite nicely, the soles are still a little stiff. I think I have cleaned and conditioned these boots 4 times during the dome, with one time involving saddle soap. I chose the less is more approach with these boots...."Read the full review

After two days of all-day wear the uppers we’re already starting to get pretty soft and I had good ankle mobility, but also with plenty if support. The color changes prettt quickly too, and starts to darken up and show some great character after a week or so of full-time wear. I spent a little time in life rain or getting sprayed by the lawn sprinklers, but once the boots dried off and I buffed them with a brush real quick, they were back to their usual selfs and didn’t seem any worse iff for it. I tried to brush them at least once a week and added a little grease 3 times over the 6 month period, and I think the leather is looking better than ever. I’m excited to see what it looks like with years of wear going forward...."Read the full review

Nicks BuilderPro in Seidel 1964 Tan SmoothBy Mechanical_J • April 1, 2024"The 1964 tan started out pretty stiff with a light tan color over the last six months they have taken on a nice light brown color and softend up nicely I cleaned and conditioned them twice with the nicks grease and just wore them normally after two weeks of wear it started to become pretty easy to wear I didnt switch boots during break in I just wore them every day and honestly it wasn't to bad for me the boots fit my foot very well I didn't get any hot spots or anything used the leather laces until they broke then switched out to ironlace I just brush them off as needed on a weekend here and there being that they are a lighter color they will show stains the stains that I have on mine are from dirty water from a boiler happened during a change out but to me that just adds character..."Read the full review
Solid comfort

The places I work are pretty dirty and oily. I blew them off most days with compressed air and a quick horsehair brush. In the weekends I’ve been hitting the rough with a nylon brush and a longer horsehair brush off. I’ve lightly conditioned with nicks included conditioner (obenaufs lp?) every other month, mainly to keep the rough out water resistant. If I dripped oil on them or they got extra dirty, I’d used a brass bristled brush...."Read the full review
