Khonsu Boot

Released as a limited pre-order collaboration in 2021, the Khonsu Boot was engineered to solve the problem of finding footwear that could handle "everyday, travel, and adventure" use while maintaining professional appearance. The collaboration was personally driven by Taylor Welden who sought to create the ultimate versatile boot after a decade-long quest for footwear that could perform in extreme conditions while maintaining stylistic elegance.

The White's Boots x Carryology Khonsu Boot emerged from Carryology's extensive search for the perfect travel boot. The collaboration aimed to create what was described as a boot designed to "flex from the mountains to a Michelin star restaurant," addressing the specific needs of travelers who require durable, functional footwear capable of transitioning between environments.

The project drew inspiration from three existing White's Boots models: the Stevens, MP-Sherman, and Main Street boots. The development process involved extensive testing in extreme environments, including field testing during challenging outdoor conditions that validated the boot's versatility and performance capabilities.

The Khonsu Boot features 360° Goodyear Welted construction with a resoleable design, built on the MP last with a toe cap featuring two rows of stitching. The boot incorporates several travel-specific design elements, including four speed hooks added specifically to facilitate easy removal and application when going through airport security and body scanners.

A distinctive rear finger loop with orange accent provides leverage for quick boot application, helping users get boots back on their feet with speed and efficiency during travel situations. The boot includes a single orange stitch on the top as a Carryology signature detail, positioned discretely behind the pant leg when worn.

The construction includes a half gusseted tongue for waterproof protection and all-leather midsole and shank for durability and comfort. Each pair is custom-made based on individual measurements with a 6-week lead time following the ordering process, ensuring a personalized fit for the wearer.

The Khonsu Boot utilizes 5" full grain water-resistant Horween Chromexcel leather uppers, available in two colorways: Black Horween Chromexcel with black hardware and black Ironlace laces, or British Tan Horween Chromexcel with brass hardware and brown Ironlace laces.

The sole system features a Vibram 430 Mini Lug with Half Lug Cap, providing a pared-back version of a classic commando lug sole that is slightly heeled and scored where not lugged. This design allows the boots to maintain grip across varied terrain while remaining suitable for urban environments.

A key technical feature is the custom Ironlace UHMWPE (Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene) laces, the same material used in Dyneema applications. These laces are made in the USA with a lifetime guarantee, featuring stretch-free construction that is nine times stronger than steel with a break strength of 1,500 pounds. The laces are waterproof, will never freeze, and are fireproof up to 630°F.

The boot is available in sizes ranging from 7 to 13 with width options from B to EE, accommodating what the manufacturers describe as "95% of human feet." The custom nature of production requires individual measurements to ensure proper fit for each customer.
