The construction features an all-leather shank and all-leather midsole, providing what White's describes as "the off-the-shelf readiness of a boot half their price and the comfort of a boot twice their price." The Goodyear welt design allows for resoling and upgrading to different Vibram or slip-resistant soles throughout the boot's lifespan.

The Kinney Chukka uses a four-inch full-grain premium leather upper designed to absorb high impact while maintaining the flexibility needed for casual wear. Each option uses the same full-grain leather construction with color variations achieved through different tanning and finishing processes. As a made-to-order product, each Kinney Chukka requires approximately eight to 10 weeks for production at White's 42,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Spokane, Washington. The production process involves more than 25 unique stages performed by White's bootmakers, maintaining the hand-finished quality that distinguishes White's construction from mass-produced alternatives.
