Yogi Footwear is a British footwear brand based in London, established in the late 1990s. The brand produces handcrafted, unlined moccasins and states a focus on sustainable and ethical manufacturing practices.
Yogi Footwear was founded in the late 1990s by individuals associated with the British menswear brand Duffer of St George. The brand's designs draw on influences from Earth and Roots shoes of the 1970s, which featured negative heel construction. In the 1990s, Richard Wharton of Office London worked with a Spanish shoemaker to reinterpret the Earth Shoe concept for the label 'Yogi by Duffer.' The brand was relaunched in autumn 2016.
All Yogi Footwear products are handmade in Portugal. Production takes place at a third-generation, family-owned factory that specializes in moccasin construction. Workers hand-cut and hand-stitch the leather uppers as part of the manufacturing process.
Yogi Footwear adopts unlined moccasin construction, seeking to limit waste and to reduce use of solvent-based adhesives by choosing water-based alternatives where viable. The brand sources materials such as vegetable-tanned leather, natural crepe outsoles, and recycled shoe boxes from local suppliers.
The brand produces several signature models, with each featuring moccasin construction. In 2019, Yogi Footwear introduced its first women's collection, adapting styles from its established range for women.
