Construction and specifications
The AB-01 models utilize Goodyear welted construction with single stitching at the sole edge. Boot height varies from 10 to 11 inches depending on the selected last option, with all models offered in D width. The design incorporates an unstructured toe and custom-made buckles. Each pair includes leather insoles that allow for fit adjustment and volume reduction as the leather stretches during wear.
Sole options correspond to the chosen last, with ST last models featuring Vibram #269 soles and CL last models equipped with Vibram #705 soles. All models include cowhide leather lining.
Leather options
The AB-01 series is available in four leather variations. The AB-01H features custom-made teacore horsehide with a dye finish that creates texture and color variation as the boots develop patina. The standard AB-01 uses steerhide with the same teacore treatment. The AB-01HB incorporates horsebutt leather, while the AB-01SS utilizes steer suede construction.
The teacore finish on horsehide and steerhide models produces a base color underneath the surface dye that becomes visible through natural wear patterns. This characteristic allows each pair to develop a personalized appearance over time.
Last options
Three last configurations provide different aesthetic and fit characteristics. The ST last represents a standard volume design that balances casual and classic styling elements, positioned between the CL and RD lasts in terms of toe profile.
The CL last features a slim profile toe box with a dress-like appearance and low profile design. Due to its narrower construction, the manufacturer recommends sizing up half a size for individuals with high insteps, wide feet, or thick calves.
The RD last offers a voluminous toe option for those preferring a more substantial toe box shape.
Fit and sizing
The boots are designed with a close-fitting last intended to mold to the wearer's feet during the break-in period. Initial wear may produce a slightly tight feel around the instep, which typically resolves as the leather stretches and conforms to foot shape. The included leather insoles provide adjustment capability as the boots break in and the leather naturally expands.

As of 2025, horsehide and steerhide models are priced at approximately $719, while horsebutt variations retail for approximately $849.
