People will think the expense is crazy, but these boots will last you almost your whole life!

Raw heavy/thick leather with suprisingly solid build for mass production shows

I would have loved to support the smaller local shops such as rancourt, quoudyy etc however the only options I could find at the time were either chromexcel or Essex which I already have.
Anyways, this heavy leather did not disappoint. After brief break in period patina developed rapidly and low maintenance with regular brushing.

Really enjoyed the few gentle hikes I took in the fall wearing these boots. The heel height made the inclines feel more manageable.

Tribute to Dad

At the last minute, I changed my plans and ordered this black pair of Alden boots - a tribute to my father and his preferred color when it came to apparel. I wore them hard and took care of them well, just as he would have. There are lots of things I like about these boots and some things I don’t. Wearing them regularly was an exercise in acceptance - not unlike the grieving process. There were happy moments (these boots won the album cover contest!) and an equal number of sad days.
