Kevin Wilson founded Caswell Boot Company in 2019. The company began with the goal of offering customizable boots. Initial setbacks included an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign and the closure of its first U.S. manufacturing partner. Caswell Boot Company later shifted production to Spain. This move enabled the company to access varied designs and leathers.

Caswell Boot Company manufactures its boots in Spanish workshops. This location was selected due to a capacity for small batch production and a variety of design capabilities. The company sources more than 80 percent of its internal build materials from vendors in the United States. Caswell’s process uses a direct-to-consumer sales model.

Caswell Boot Company uses several leather types in its footwear. These include CF Stead oiled shoulder, Wickett and Craig oiled latigo, and Seidel Grizzly Cattail. The construction method is Goodyear welt, which uses stitched layers. Sole options such as Vibram Londra and Dainite rubber are available on many models.

Caswell Boot Company produces boot models such as the Lisbon, which is a plain-toe service boot, and the Wilson, which is a cap-toe derby boot made on the Alder last. The Coimbra is a three-eyelet chukka boot, and the Shaw is a plain-toe boot made with Wickett and Craig chestnut oiled latigo leather, built on the Harris last. The company also offers a hand-welted line that allows for further customization in design and leather choice.
