Caswell Boot Company was founded by Kevin Wilson in 2019 and named after Caswell County, North Carolina. The direct-to-consumer brand focuses on leather curation and sources materials from established tanneries including Horween, C.F. Stead, Seidel, and Tanneries Du Puy. Originally planning to manufacture in the United States, production moved to Spain after domestic manufacturing plans fell through.

The Lisbon employs Goodyear welt construction with a 360-degree storm welt design that provides enhanced water resistance compared to standard welting methods. The boot incorporates a metal shank for stability surrounded by a thick layer of cork filling, with the midsole attached using vegetable-tanned leather. This construction allows the boot to be resoled when the outsole wears down.

The upper features a plain-toe service boot design with five eyelets and two speedhooks for efficient lacing. Antique brass hardware provides the closure system, while the structured toe maintains its shape during wear. The boot uses a leatherboard heel counter construction for support and structure around the heel area.

A separate Stone Rambler variant is built on the Morris last rather than the standard Wayne last, providing a different fit profile for customers. This Morris last version features a Vibram 2332 half sole instead of the standard Ridgeway or Dr. Sole configuration.
