The Fernando Chelsea is a Chelsea boot manufactured by Christian Daniel. Built on the #199 last with a rounded toe shape, the Fernando Chelsea is handmade in León, Mexico by skilled artisans.
The boot employs over 200 individual steps in its manufacturing process, requiring more than 100 hours of labor per pair. All artisans work as full-time employees receiving comprehensive benefits and living wages.
The Fernando Chelsea employs traditional Goodyear welt construction methods with two configuration options. The boot is available with either 360-degree storm welt construction or 270-degree Goodyear welt construction. Both construction methods allow the boot to be completely resoled by qualified cobblers.
Internal components include a steel shank positioned between the insole and outsole for arch support and structural stability. Natural cork filler occupies the space between insole and outsole, conforming to the wearer's foot shape over time. The insole, midsole, and welt are constructed from vegetable-tanned leather.
The upper features a clean three-piece pattern design with elastic gore sections on both sides. Double-sided elastic gores facilitate easy entry and removal while maintaining secure fit around the ankle. Rear pull tabs embossed with the CD logo assist with putting on the boots.
The Fernando Chelsea uses LeFarc Albatros leather from the León, Mexico tannery for the upper. The boot is available in three leather color options: Black, Maple, and Roughout.
The boot is constructed on the #199 last, which features a rounded toe shape designed to provide room in the toe box and waist while maintaining an elegant appearance. The Fernando Chelsea runs true to size according to Brannock measurement and is available in D width. Individuals with high insteps or high-volume feet should consider sizing up half a size for optimal comfort.
Each Fernando Chelsea boot is handmade in a small workshop in León, Mexico. The manufacturing process involves more than 200 individual steps, requiring over 100 hours of labor per pair. All artisans work as full-time employees receiving comprehensive benefits, living wages, and safe working conditions.
