Duckfeet is a Danish footwear brand founded in 1975. The company is based in Skærbæk, Denmark, and produces shoes with a minimalist design based on natural foot shapes. Duckfeet uses simple construction methods and emphasizes durable materials sourced in Europe.
Duckfeet was established in 1975 by Inga and Claus Wiechmann in Skærbæk, Denmark. The company produced its footwear in Denmark until the 1980s and then moved production to Poland. Manufacturing continues in Poland as of the 2020s. In 2004, ownership of Duckfeet transferred from the founders to Vibeke Dissing.
Duckfeet footwear is produced by hand in Poland. Materials for Duckfeet shoes are sourced from companies within the European Union. The company has worked with the same Polish factory for more than twenty years.
Duckfeet shoes have uppers made from Terracare leather tanned in Germany. This leather is produced using a process that reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 30 percent and uses up to 80 percent less water than standard methods. The soles use crepe rubber from Italy, while some models include a lining made with European sheep’s wool. The footbed inside each shoe is made from neutral leather and does not have built-in arch support.
Duckfeet produces different styles of footwear, including boots, shoes, and sandals. Model names such as Ã…rhus, FÃ¥borg, Roskilde, and Jylland refer to locations in Denmark. The Ã…rhus model is a boot made with pebbled leather and wool lining. The FÃ¥borg boot is constructed from heavy Terracare leather. Roskilde is a slip-on Chelsea boot, while Jylland is a leather Derby shoe with a wide toe box and stacked heel.
