They felt comfortable out of the box, minus a slight squeeze on my small toes. After about a month that was gone. I tend to get relaxed with my care routine. I like to brush them or wipe them down with a damp rag every couple days to keep the work dust off of them. Sometimes they go a week or more before this happens. I think the patina is relatively subtle and fits me. For me, the break in process was easy. I expected arch pain and blisters but had neither.
