I chose this as a heavy duty work boot to meet the needs of long days on job sites, climbing, and hiking.
I used the JK sizing guide, admittedly it was a little misleading and I think the traditional half down recommendation for PNW boots is still true.
I ordered these online, I had a few interactions with customer service. Everything was good with prompt responses.
These were my double dome pair designated for particularly long and hard days in the shop or onsite. These boots worked in Las Vegas during F1 week, the Javits Center, and prepped a few concerts in our shop west of Chicago. They also helped me climb hundreds of feet in state parks on hikes, and got me through a few big snowfalls.
How has it held up you ask? Incredibly well. It's a work leather for a reason! The rough out has softened nicely with some Dubbin as have the uppers with wear. Everything has broken in nicely and even though the leather is very thick, it's quite pliable now. Though it took me a month or two to get there! In terms of care, these haven't needed much. Just cleaning any dust or salt off after travel. Re dressing the edge when it got too worn, etc.
I think these would be very comfortable and supportive if I hadn't misjudged sizing. Even with the sizing these were comfortable. They just could have been better.
They're definitely work boots. I don't think they have the finishing quality of Nick's or White's. But in terms of build and construction they're solid!
Going forward if I were in the market for a pure work boot. I'd still consider JK though it may be tough considering what other PNW brands are offering.
