Just wore them around. Nothing too crazy. Wish they got more action, but my other pair was typically my go-to.
The Black Klondike leather is REAL stiff out of the gate. The thick leather underfoot made for a slow break in. They still have a ways to go, if I’m being honest. The leather has softened up quite a bit and the tea core breaking through at the toe and along the vamp is the whole point and it sure is satisfying.
While Red Wing’s 8 last fits well, the unstructured toe of the 9060 makes for an overall narrower toe box. They feel less cramped than originally, but they need a little more break-in.
They’re beautiful. A pair that I’ve wanted for years, but hadn’t previously been made in my size. The shallow toe makes for a very sleek silhouette but Red Wing’s standards. Damn near flawless.
The forefoot grip of the gro-cord is awesome, but my old bones would love a little more give at the heel. No shock absorption here.
There’s a reason the RWH people love the 9060. It’s 100% warranted.
