I was looking for a monkey boot and Sagara was recommended. Saw this leather and contrasting thread and loved it
I contacted Sagara and told them my size in different brands and they gave me what they thought their boots would fit. And it was perfect.
Ask online, but I did have an email chain with customer service simultaneously
I’m not overly tough on my boots. I don’t get much field time these days, so I’m mostly in the office. That being said, I don’t baby them either.
Black leather is kinda tough to see patina for a while. They’re breaking in fine though, and I do love the way they’re starting to look.
The fit is fantastic. I e-mails Sagara at the beginning of the process, told them what I wore in a different brand, and they recommended the 41.5. And they were right on.
I love the look. I love the contrasting leather vs stitching. I haven’t seen any “worn” out areas. The only thing I can think of, is on the left foot, the leather lining bunched a little bit right at the ball of my foot. I don’t feel it when I wear them…just if I stick my hand in there and feel around. I get compliments all the time on these boots. More than any other boots I’ve owned. Oh….one other thing. The speed hooks…can they be “sharp”? I’ve gone through a few laces thus far…and that’s odd. And in the last review, I talked about the tongue on the left boot slides to the side. I’ve just been too lazy to take it to a cobbler.
This is my first experience with Dr. Soles. The experience has been fine…only real comment is there loud. lol. I have hardwood floors and when I walk you really hear it. More than the other boots I have. Not a big deal, just something I noticed.
So, I know these are never going to be “hard working” soles. I’ve never had this happen, but Walking in the snow…they much get super cold or something because snow will pack on the soles. Like 1/2” on snow packed under my feet. I’m not worried about the soles being total traction hounds, but the things with the snow was a surprise.
I love the boots. They will be a mainstay even after this “comp” is over. I was even looking at the Website drooling over a Shell version of the Cordmaster. Fantastic boots. Just wish they patina’d easier. But that’s NOT really as problem. Highly recommended!
