Why did you choose this item?

Availability: Stock Model

I was looking for a monkey boot and Sagara was recommended. Saw this leather and contrasting thread and loved it

How did you determine your size?

Sized by Maker

I contacted Sagara and told them my size in different brands and they gave me what they thought their boots would fit. And it was perfect.

Use & wear

Office Work
Leisure
Travel
Snow

I’ve worn these boots virtually every single day since the thunderdome started. I wear them in the office. I wear them out in the snow going back back-and-forth to the car. I wear them everywhere. I’m not easy on them, but I’m also not in the trades, so I’m not beating the hell out of them either.

So these will never be as comfy as straight CXL. And black is hard to patina quickly. That being said, there are areas on it that are really starting to look nice.

Fit

Length Feels Right
Ball Feels Right
Satisfied with the Fit
Too Little Volume

So, I tried to wear a different pair of boots every Sunday. And I noticed that around the tow box these are pretty constricting, maybe a little tight right around my “ring toe??”, not nothing uncomfortable. And I do realize these aren’t laced to toe boots, so that’s kind of the idea. And I don’t hate it. The only fitment issue I have is the tongue on the left boot, as I’ve written about before. It just won’t stay straight. And that’s a little frustrating, but I also haven’t done anything to get it corrected overall, I think the fit is great

Craftsmanship

Finishing
Stitching

I absolutely love the finishing. The contrasting stitching. One of the nit pics I have are the hardware. The eyelets are fine, but the speed hooks are “ sharp”. I’ve gone through a couple sets of laces already. I don’t know what the issue is, I just know that bees go through laces like no other boot I’ve had. And the weather insole on my left boot has kind of bunched up around my toes. Since it’s fitted to my toes, they really isn’t an issue. I have just never had that happen before.

Sole & heel

These soles are super loud. I work from home, it have hardwood floors. And anywhere I walk… It’s just loud as hell. And I live in a snowy area and when I go outside and walk any kind of snow when I hit pavement again there’s a quarter to a half inch of snow packed against the soles. I know these aren’t lug souls, but my other boots with more flat souls have never had this issue. I love the look of them, but I don’t know if I’d ever get them again.

As I said up above, I think they’re a really good looking sole, but I don’t think I’d ever get them again.

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

The soles bother me a lot, but that’s my only real gripe. I would totally recommend these boost to anybody. The craftsmanship is fantastic and the looks are beautiful. I wish black weather patinaed quicker though. lol. I love how the kilte (sp?) is being worked in as well.
