I have to survey over pavement, grass fields, forests and thick unkept underbrush.
I have to walk through thorns and briars often and am walking in tall grass often. These things cause rapid wear on boots.

I work in an office environment, so a normal weekday consists of walking to the train and from the train to work, beeing in the office, going for a walk in my break and vice versa. So not a big challenge for these beautiful boots.
Other than that I'm a pretty active person, so the weekends were full of little adventures from working in the garden, camping and repairing my car to going on hikes and walking miles and miles when I was on vacation.
The Skoobs handled all of it with ease. At first I was a bit concerned about the rubber half sole without much profile. I expected to get problems on slippery surfaces and in the winter, but they did an exceptional job. I thought I'd have to replace them after some time, but the compound is pretty hard, so they still look pretty good...."Read the full review

The leather held up very well. Your can see where the black finish has worn off relatively easily, but I think you could beat the hell out of it and they'd last. Seems rather pipey, but that's not an issue imo.

These have seen the usual desk patina, but also have been exposed to drops of acetone and other solvents, some dilute acid, and etching solutions.
There's also been some manual labor, but not very intense - occasionally crawling around to work on equipment.
I've used them on some short walks, but nothing significant enough to warrant the word "hike."
I didn't like the way the edges were wearing part way through, so I lightly sanded the finish off and refinished them myself. I much prefer this look now...."Read the full review
