I probably could have conditioned it once or twice more than I did, but I still think the leather has held up considerably. I probably went 2 months between conditions, which involved cleaning the boot thoroughly, then just applying some shoe cream. I did brush much more often than that, probably once a week casually, often during calls when I was off camera. It's one of those leathers that you just want to keep rubbing. The smell is awesome, just like most cxl. And it still has that great leather smell go this day. I think the patina is relatively subtle and fits me. For me, the break in process was easy. I expected arch pain and blisters but had neither. It is just a fantastic leather that allowed me to not be worried at all about it. They’ve developed that really rich honey amber color over time.
I conditioned the toes and heels with cobblers choice about half way through because they were drying out due to the wet conditions. Then a final bit a VSC at the end...."Read the full review

Wiped them down with a wet rag when they were dirty, but for the most part just let the leather do its thing. I didn't condition the waxed flesh with anything.
It's been durable and has kept my feet dry in the rainy weather we have here.
I was hoping it would have shown more of the lighter nap under the wax, but it seems to have burnished back down rather than rub off. Still happy with it though, it's just the nature of the environment they were in.

Regular brushing off of dirt and salt was the only care these seemed to need. There are visible scratches on the boots which I have not tried to disguise. I get compliments on these at least weekly and have had multiple people stop me and ask what they are, where can I get, etc. Shades of brown have come through the green in spots, looking really nice. The only thing I've done to them is brush them and clean the outsole. Comfortable straight out of the box, and VERY comfortable within 2 weeks of daily wear. I wore these all day every day for months and can really tell at this point just how well they've taken to my feet...."Read the full review

After these 6 months, there is the slightest patina starting at the heels. I do a brush down about once a week. Treating with Venetian shoe cream once as prevention. Using a shoe brush just brings this right back to almost new.
