Five year review: Truman natural shell derbies

I don’t wear them for really rough work-boots stuff, but everything else is fair game. I don’t baby them at all… they’ve been on dusty nature walks, beach sand, grassy fields, mud puddles, etc. I walk 5-10 miles per day around town, so they’ve seen a lot of pavement too.
These are also my “nice” shoes for formal occasions - or at least what passes as formal in the rural Pacific Northwest. They kept my feet cozy during my college graduation, conference presentations, two rounds of jury duty, and several job interviews...."Read the full review

Every rainy or snowy day I wore them to work. Every mountain bike ride in November through March, they took the place of my mountain biking boots. One day they came back soaked and covered with mud. I brushed the mud/dirt off, let them dry, and then wiped them with a damp rag and brushed them for a while. In half an hour they looked fantastic...."Read the full review

Only took a few days off after tweaking my back a few weeks ago. I’ve worn them on hikes, in snow, rain, and put quite a few miles in them during a trip earlier this month in Taiwan. I've worn them for Iowa football games, Iowa basketball games (I've even stormed the court at Carver Hawkeye arena in these), and the Houston Rodeo (which included a Creed Concert).
If my tally is right, I've worn them in 5 states (Iowa, Texas, Illinois, North Carolina, and Colorado) as well as 2 countries (Taiwan and USA). One perk of the thunderdome is I didn't have to spend much time thinking about which pair of boots to wear in the mornings in my every day life and on trips, but they really can do it all so they were never out of place...."Read the full review

Who Said Dress Shoes Can't Dome?
Carmina Long Wing Blucher Shoes 532 in Horween Armagnac Shell CordovanBy Janbiya • April 5, 2026"These shoes have spend a lot of time on office carpet but a good bit on gravel and traipsing through shallow puddles, too. They were "be-all do-all" shoes as a good Dome paid should be. I didn't pull any punches and the leather soles kept my feet safe and dry even if there was a bit of slipping and sliding on steep streets and uneven rain-slick steps.
I didn't wear them exclusively and my schedule prevented me from walking as much as I did in the last Dome, but I still walk a lot and I estimate I put 500 miles/800 kilometers on them...."Read the full review
