Why did you choose this item?
Carl Murawski had been saying great things about Nicks. I had been down the road with some Whites Perry’s and Redwing 875. Wanted to step it up and get something made to order. Flew to Spokane got measured and 9 mo later😂
How did you determine your size?
Store measured me, then had me try on boots made in the same last and size to ensure good fit. No modifications needed.
What was the ordering process?
Great. The lady at Nicks walked me through it all. I was probably in the store for 2 hours. The wait is a long wait but well worth it.
Use & wear
Yes. Started out as a casual boot but as it has broken in I’m wearing more everyday for everything.
Leather
The break in process has been like no other. TOUGH. This W&C leather is no joke. Redwings are easy and thin compared to this. Now that they are finally broken in, Amazing. I have conditioned once with Bick 4. Ordered another boot getting made by Nicks.
Fit
I like the fit and feel. They are my most comfortable boots to date. I feel like the in store visit was worth it.
Craftsmanship
The best I’ve experienced yet. I have White(not MTO), Redwings, Thorogood, Lucchese, Anderson Bean. The construction is wayyyy overbuilt for a casual boot, but it’s a great feel. Great finishing too.
Sole & heel
Comfortable underfoot and good traction for my needs in West Texas. Easy to keep clean doesn’t track stuff everywhere.
This is the only downside to the boot in my opinion. I don’t like the extra height the DR Sole added. The the durability, traction and comfort is great. Esthetics though are not my favorite in this taller heel cap.
Final thoughts
Great boot. Very happy with the company, the boot, the fit and finish.
