Red Wing Shoes
Red Wing / 4501 Logger
Red Wing Store Brighton Michigan
Cost: 350 USD
They survived a Michigan winter and cleaned up very easily.
The leather hasn't evolved much, as it's black and struck through. However, it held up incredibly well over the winter. Break in process wasn't too bad, although the back stay piece has never quite formed to my heel. As for care routine, I wipe them down when exposed to salt and brushed. Otherwise, I left them alone. I only conditioned them once at the end of the thunderdome (Obenauff's).
They're a bit narrower in the toe box and looser in the heels than other boots I have in the number eight last.
Very well built, especially compared to other Red Wing heritage offerings. They actually have a midsole! No issues with construction/finish whatsoever.
Plenty of grip and cushion.

Overall, they're a great boot. Well made with a high quality, interesting leather. I just wish they fit better!
