I wore these out and about quite a bit in the autumn
I love horse hide, in general, and I'm a fan of Maryam, but I really grew to dislike this coated horsebutt. When the coating rubs off it leaves a buff color underneath that I don't like. No blame to Sagara, but the leather isn't for me. I used shoe cream to restore some evenness to the leather
I'm an 11D on a Brannock and an 11D in Red Wings and in Viberg's 2030 and a 11D in Barrie. I'm usually a 44 in European sizes. My instep is a little high and my foot is a little wide. After sending measurements to Sagara, they suggested a 45D, maybe a 45E if I wanted to err on the side of caution. I got the 45E and it was still pretty narrow. I could only wear them with very thin socks and the facings were still a little stretched out over the instep. If I was ordering again, I'd probably go 45EE? 46E? Not sure, but in this single experience, Sagara runs a little small for those with a high instep.
This is a good looking, well constructed boot.
Really nice leather sole. I’m not sure what the heel brand Sagara uses, but it’s definitely a little soft.
Hard to find a less expensive boot, built to your specifications that’s still made with good craftsmanship
