They have been just the ticket walking along river banks and the seashore. I have done yard work in them, and worn them around the docks at my rowing club. I have also worn them for day trips into NYC. They are not fancy, and I could only wear them to my workplace on the occasional days when office attire wasn’t expected. Cold, wet winter weather isn’t where these boots shine: This was not a surprise. But we had a fairly mild winter, and I was still able to wear them with pleasure every week. Great casual boot that can take a beating with interesting patina potential

I wore them to work/client meetings early on, wore them on hikes, snowy and rainy dog walks, stepped on my toddlers in the mud. They held up great throughout. Because of the extreme pull-up and patina Rowdy Dachshund takes on, I’d say beyond 2 months in, the leather wasn’t quite as suitable for more formal situations like client meetings...."Read the full review

Being in in a walkable neighborhood, they were with me in countless trips the grocery, library, barbershop, park, laundromat, bank, hardware store, restaurants, office, and (my favorite) when I would take a walk after dinner. As for special occasions, the first week of wear coincided with the first time my mom visited from the Philippines so I broke in the boots showing her around San Francisco. I was also fortunate enough to take the boots to Providence in the winter where my wife had a grad school residency.
