I bought these after a recent promotion, which required me to be in the field less often. I wanted a pair of boots that was versatile enough to both be on site as well as meeting clients in their offices. These Parkhurst boots with the mock moctoe stitching suited that purpose. I went with the vegetable tanned leather as I wanted a pair of shoes that would look worn sooner than later as it would suit a look of well dressed, but not trying too hard to be well dressed with clients.
I did what I usually do which is go a half size down from Brannock.
I wore these almost every day during the 6 months of the patina thunderdome. I would say a majority of the time were in the office or in a non-challenging situation. However, there were times I needed to be in the field to assist a team of surveyors in the rain and mud. These boots held up in those situations as well. These were also worn on a regular basis walking with my daughter around a neighborhood lake.
Initially, the fit was a bit looser than I'd like. A boot kiltie quickly solved this issue. If I didn't use kilties, thicker socks did the trick.
