Originally i intended for these to be a leisure boot and wear them with jeans for the winter season. due to excess rain and the natural light dublin work dome boots i had to put these to work in the mud to prevent running the light dublin development, and they didn't give up or cause an issue once.

Color Change

First go with CXL leather and they sure do buff to shine easily. extremely happy with the color change on high wear areas and the luster they hold once buffed with cloth

Satisfied with the Fit
No Toe Room

Great fit, medium arch support but tight toe box. could have gone with and 8 and had more space. as they are now i cannot fit an insole unless it's spenco rx. any extra volume and my toes get squished.

Stitching

Great construction. welt stitch down is a little rough but overall the stitching is top tier and i have had zero construction issues with them.

Sole & heel

Vibram 700 Tygum V-Bar Full Sole Black5 months, current sole
Durability

Hard and durable outsole. my first go with V bar and i do like them. not the best for wet conditions due to the hardness but they will definitely last a long time.

doggerWorn for 5 months, current heel

Classic heel. pairs very well with the profile of the boot and a good stacked jean. fits the biker style perfect.

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

Excellent boots. price does seem steep for overall construction due to them being very simple and nothing truly over the top in design. Hand stitched would have felt more acceptable at the price point. having no insoles the boots squeak like hell every step due to sock sliding around in a slip on style boot which is rather annoying. overall i like them and don't regret purchasing them.

Is there a more quintessentially booty boot than a black Chromexcel MP?…. Nah, I think not.

White's MP-Sherman Plain Toe in Horween Black Chromexcel
By philbert • April 6, 2026"This pair is pretty darn close to perfect for my low key Pacific Northwest lifestyle. I wear chinos in a casual office setting where I’m on my feet a lot and these fit right in. Evening dog walks, bird watching (even through some pretty heavy brush), light duty hikes….. perfect. Weekend warrior remodel projects, gardening, up and down ladders pruning fruit trees…. Right on. The CXL on these is so nice and supple with a sugary break that is just right. I wore these about 5 days a week through out the dome, with the off days being the occasions when I wore scrubs to work….. while they go with just about any fit, I couldn’t make them work with scrubs (although I tried it one morning…. Quick veto from the wife). They got soaked through, but only a couple of times…. Wet grass walking and the one snowy weekend we got this year in southern Oregon and, after a day to dry out, they bounced back and were all the better for it. So easy to wear, so versatile, understated but special….. after six months of near daily wear I still look forward to putting them on. Thanks to White’s and Horween…. For making products you can be proud of. What a special thing that this kind of craftsmanship still exists in the world. There may not be one perfect pair of boots….. but if I had to pick one pair from my collection (small compared to some of you hard core aficionados), these would be them….. hands down...."Read the full review

White's Custom Model in Horween Dark Brown Waxed Flesh & Seidel Brown Dress
By a1moyer • April 3, 2026"I don't have anything exciting to add here. I did travel to Nevada for a few days though! 😆 Most of my boot wearing is done at work as a delivery driver. On the weekends I may go on a hike or kick around town doing chores and such. This pair has been a fine companion on my daily grind in the PNW. We had a mild winter here in Portland. No snow or ice...just rain. 🫠 I'd say most of their days have been spent in SE Portland in the neighborhoods between the waterfront and SE 82nd ave. Typical urban environment with some excursions to the surrounding suburbs and a few days at the Oregon coast. My work requires retrieving/organizing parcels in the back of the truck so some wear is acquired behind the bulkhead door. Sidewalks, asphalt, stepping stones, concrete, gravel, grass, mud, dirt, steps, ramps, wooden decks, moss covered decks 💀, stone, and every other surface imaginable in a PNW neighborhood...these boots have been on. The last two Thunderdomes I competed in the work category, but this year I wanted to run in the Open. I felt like the style of boot lent itself more to the Open category and wanted to rub shoulders with some patina legends! I want to be forthright about how I wore this pair and be sure the judges know I wore these at work as well as in my off time...."Read the full review
