I have worn my Alden Stitchdown Otis Indy’s almost every day. I’m a teacher so I’m on my feet all day. These boots are super comfortable, even more so than a pair of sneakers.
The brown calfskin was slow to change, but once it did the caramel tones really warmed up the boots visually. I brushed probably once every two weeks and used Bick’s twice in six months.
I decided to go Alden this year because my previous submissions were not Alden and extremely uncomfortable. Both the Barrie and Trubalance lasts fit me well. I love that my foot feels supported (and I have high arches) and the boot has a sleek shape. I can wear these boots with any mid weight sock.
Beautiful work. These are tanks, but they don’t look it.
Leather sole has exceeded expectations. I have been caught in heavy downpours multiple times and my feet stayed dry. Traction was a little tough at first, but mostly fine after the leather sole got some grit.
