hiked in the mountains, done gardening, helped out friends on their farms in the mud, cleared bramble patches, trekked through the Belizean rainforest, hiked accross coffee farms in Guatemala, took the boots on and off an absurd amount of time through TSA, done woodworking, welding, painting, sanding and all the other good stuff, I have been to numerous farmer’s markets loading and offloading a bunch, also sat my ass down a lot for some inevitable office time, danced with my partner, went to dinner with friends and family, sometimes walked aimlessely through city streets, just for the heck of it.

I wore these boots 5-6 days a week for the duration of the contest. They’ve demoed a roof, gone on hikes, dropped the kid off to day care, trudged through the snow, installed insulation in a cramped attic, hit the beach a few times, been my daily boot worn into the office, dug trenches, and most recently been dragged under the crawl space to replace a sewer line. I work 5 days a week, so the primary usage was for my job as a fleet manager. I spend most days at a desk, but when I needed to go on site or to the shop, I wasn’t worried about needed to swap out my shoes for something else. If nothing else, the sheer practicality of that was a win in my books.
Off hours I took these on hikes in the nicer weather, but also decided to strap on some crampons when the weather got most treacherous. We were blessed with a mild winter, so I found myself reaching for these instead of my Timberland 40 Below boots...."Read the full review

The Vibram mini lug sole with no slip features was very helpful. I also moved vacuum pumps to my shop for maintenance. I spend a lot of time at my desk writing software, or working on electronic equipment that is malfunctioning. I went on a trip to Michigan where I was able to do some hiking in the snow and cold. They performed very well. I could have used some slightly thicker socks though. Traction was very good in the snow as well...."Read the full review
