The pair have been broken in as I have entered this in an earlier Patina Thunderdome competition. The shell is a durable leather. Brushing is enough to maintain or take care of it.

This is my 3rd pair in the MP1339 last and I have gone half a size up so that I can have the rolls that is commonly seen in shell cordovan footwear. This pair has no rigid heel cup and wearing this is very comfortable now.
Craftsmanship
Wesco Romeo
The Romeo is a classic, well though of design. The construction is robust. Wesco finishing can be better but it might add up to the costs. Overall I am happy with my Romeo. This is my 3rd Romeo pair.

Being in Washington, these spent a majority of their time getting wet in some way or another. The lining made them just fine as snow boots, just add a nice pair of Darn Tough boot socks.

I had zero experience with natural leather boots so I was babying these with walks to and from the office until I fell in chasing an angry toddler’s thrown sippy cup. After that introduced some fascinating stains and patterns it was off to the races- these have busted through snow at 7,000 feet and soaked by a hose-happy toddler multiple times. These took me to casinos, logging conferences, daycare walks, office meetings, back country road trips, wildlife photography expeditions, Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, trips across 4 different Sierra passes, and dozens of family walks.
