They truly can be, and at least in my case, are now real hiking boots. 30+ miles a week for the last 2 months, holding up against my river adjacent, multi-terrain, trail blazing. Durability-wise, I am very impressed. I have much experience tearing through hiking boots, and these things put to shame some of the best cemented hikers on the market (I won't name names...) In summary, I wore these mostly to work and around town. But I also took them on several mountain hikes and a trip to snowy Japan back in January.
They have performed perfectly in all environments. Some sore heels during initial break-in. And after the long snowy hike in Japan with heavy snow. But otherwise they have been comfortable from day 1...."Read the full review

For the first two months I wore them to the training center every day, into the flight simulator, and out at night. For the next couple months I wore them on all my airline trips. Between the rudder pedals, and cramped spaces of a Boeing cockpit, they got banged around quite a bit. A fickle and delicate beast

Carpet and sitting at a desk all day only can provide so much patina, but these boots got plenty of casual (including at boot camp) and weekend wear. As I took a new job at the turn of the year and began a work from home job, the number of wears declined a bit but saw a higher percentage of wear in casual settings.
Given I had to wear these in an office environment, I elected to not wear them on rainy days as much as possible to avoid the typical Shinki water spotting...."Read the full review
Best footwear I’ve put on my foot!

However I have not shied away from wearing them anywhere else. I have crossed creeks, walked beaches and hiked a few short trails. I wore these boots as my everyday shoes almost every day for 6 months but chose more appropriate footwear for serious hiking or excessive snow conditions. Whenever we get snow I wore them through the snow and they worked great. They have just enough water resistance that my foot wasn’t wet all day. I really loved how they would clean up really well when they did get dirty. You could get some mud on them, wipe em down and brush them up then wear them to the office next day. If a had a customer meeting I could throw some conditioner on em and shine them up a little...."Read the full review
