Is Dublin suited for work???

The waxy surface seems to melt into high friction areas such as the heel and instep and is starting to burnish nicely. The scuffs begin to caramelize with a good brushing.
Break-in was relatively non-existent, seeing we were working 16-hour shifts in the South East for a month.
Care is crucial for this leather. I brush them after each use with a horse hair brush. Wipe down if necessary and put on a 3 hour cycle on the boot dryer with no heat. Dublin leather basically only has a layer of wax on its top coat, and once it begins getting scuffed, it drys out fairly quick. So for touch-up maintenance, I've been using light applications of Smith's Leather Balm. Then, wipe them down with a clean terry cloth followed by more brushing...."Read the full review

Youtubers claimed the leather was so hard and stiff and that it changed color as soon as you take them out of the box. They did change color but after months of wear. I wore them in 100° heat and also in -2° snow. I only cleaned them up once a month. I did dry them everyday in a boot dryer. The color change was not as drastic as some youtubers claimed. The fossilization process starts off very light in color with a matte like . Once the wax coat on this veg tanned leather begins to warm up with heat, and friction, it starts to darken, burnish and shine.
Break-in was relatively painless, surprisingly, as they were subjected to 16+ hour shifts on storm for their first 3 weeks of life. They only further became more comfortable throughout the six months.
Care routine is as follows; brushed every day, wiped down as needed. Very light conditioning at the 3 month mark and a final conditioning at month 6. A gripe I could say about the Dublin is it seemingly has an endless amount of stretch to it sometimes. I prefer lacing up fairly snug, and at some point, I had to accept the level of snugness these allowed...."Read the full review
Carmelization Further Intensifies...

A fee slices were opened wounds when new but have since gone to a much more scar like tissue. I brush dirt and debris off as needed and wipe of mud and clay wipe a damp rag. I am still working on what the definition of patina for boots is. As far as the transformation of the leather it has definitely transformed. The character has started to shine through! The toe collapse is amazing and the leather has really adapted to the creases that have formed and look really amazing!!! The color change has not been super dramatic but it has been super fun to watch and see how it’s been subtly transforming! The midsoles are another story! They have been stained a couple times and have lost their color quite frequently! They have required the most amount of love and attention! The break in was a bit rough but pretty quickly they became a part of my feet and were perfect! I probably conditioned them 3 times through the 6 months with some Venetian!
