Originally wore to work (office) with jeans and khakis. Started wearing them on long walks and trail hiking (flat… it’s Texas). Converted to mainly walking and trails 1/3 the way through.
This stuff is tough. Much harder to wear the wax off than say a hand waxed roughout. Once the “Natty Color” started to show it pretty quick went back to dark from the roughout being exposed. I didn’t think about that. Beautiful dark color that eventually breaks down. Very comfortable leather, just a little stiff at first. Brush and Brush. I never put any cleaner or hydration creams on this. Did I mention I brushed?
Wow maybe one of my favorite lasts. It’s snug in a good way at the toes. If you need wide area there just mention to Fortis. Have bought two Dakar since. Great fitting last for my foot and ankle. Not much arch.
I lucked in to the Moc style because I think that much stitching made the wax leather breakdown faster (good for this competition). The low toe profile on a Moc is my favorite. Stitching on the upper is phenomenal.
Well not the best choice for hiking on trails. My bad, didn’t anticipate using this boot for that, but it worked in the end. No comfort issues at all.
Standard Heel. No issues, good traction for a flat surface.
My goal was to try and be original…having a Moc in Waxed Flesh was pretty rare in the Dome. I’m glad I gave it a shot. I did the best I could. Did I mention I Brushed? HaHa. Such a great build and value, highly Recommend!
