These beets have primarily been my after work and weekend boots. Working on my truck, wrenching on the motorcycle. Been taking the boots out on a ride on the motorcycle most every weekend.
These boots have definitely changed over the past 6 month. The went from a vibrant green, to a darker green that teacored very nicely. Giving the boot those brown to tan highlights through hints of green. The break virtually non existent due to the leather being supple and the softer Vibram lug sole. Combined the Nicks TNW(Munson) last. They just fit my foot perfect. The boots have been in some down pour rain and have kept my feet dry. Have not needed to condition the boot yet. Just a brush with the horse hair brush.
This boot is in the TNW last. When I first got them, I felt like I could have got a half a size to a full size smaller because the toe box was so roomy. Never worn a TNW last before. But after a few wears and the boot molding to my foot. The sizing was spot on. I really enjoy how my feet sit in the boot and my pinky toe has room to do its thing. Myself having a wide foot, I’ve never had a boot contoured to the shape of my foot. I must say, it’s nice. The trade off is, it looks a little funky to me since I’m used to the 55 last. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this boot.
I’m new to the Nicks boot line. And as soon as I opened the box and held them in my hand I knew I was holding something special. The leather was so supple. The symetry was surprisingly spot on despite being hand made and not factory made.
This is my first time wearing the Honey Vibram sole. I’ve always defaulted to the Vibram 100 just because that’s all I’ve ever known. But the honey Vibram are a very comfortable sole. The impact absorption really made me question myself for never buying them before. And I’ve primarily only use them on concrete and asphalt, and they are definitely better than the Vibram 100 in that aspect.
The honey Vibram heel really handles well for my application being on hard surfaces. The heel strike really absorbs the impact and the wear hasn’t been bad at all. I was expecting more wear than what currently have.
I recommend these boots to everybody. So many people in my daily life have never heard of Nicks before. Everything about these boots I would recommend.
